MIX.BEATIT.tv

Beatit.tv is a group of steadily growing websites focusing on music-related areas of interest including drums, bass, music education (we teach singing, guitar, keyboards, bass and drums). Right now, we would like to introduce you to the youngest baby in the family – mix.beatit.tv. It is a website created by professionally active musicians and sound engineers, who make albums, have done FOH and monitor work at the biggest and most prestigious venues and festivals in Poland (including the Przystanek Woodstock festival, which is the biggest in Europe) and know exactly what a music producer’s or sound engineer’s day-to-day existence is like, be it professional or amateur. We understand what it means to be uncertain as to what equipment to choose and be afraid that our hard-earned money might not be invested the way it ought to be. We know exactly how much time and effort it takes to master recording and mixing theory as well as technique to a degree which enables one to share his or her productions with the world. Also our studio gear malfunctioned at some point (burnt amps, defective software, cable noise, voltage surges, phasing, etc.). Over the years, we have learned a trick or two to avoid or even eliminate such situations with the help of knowledge and proper gear use. We, too, have had to cope with several tracks which were out of phase. On the other hand, we also know the satisfaction resulting from solving all these problems and achieving our goals. You have similar problems? Mix.beatit.tv is a website meant to function as a platform for sharing experiences, knowledge and tricks concerning the art of music production.

If you want to know what’s going on in the world of music production, you will find out about everything in our NEWS section. New studio processors, microphones, software, headphones, monitors, visits at concerts, festivals, expositions, conventions, fair events, workshops and clinics, newly released albums, books, and much, much more. What’s the best purchase? Keyboard controllers from Akai, Arturia, Yamaha, or a Chinese maker? Which model should it be? Studio monitors from Adam Studio, Genelec, KRK, Alesis, Behringer or some other maker? What about DAW from Cubase, Pro Tools or Logic? Cables from Klotz, Adam Hall, Neutrik? Or maybe Cordial, ProCab or Proel? What mic stands should I choose? Athletic, Widlicki Dynawid or K&M? What SSDs? Goodram? Western Digital? Sandis? Sony? What virtual instruments? What about microphones? Shure, AKG, Neumann, ELECTRO-VOICE, BEYERDYNAMIC? What headphones model to choose? Let’s not forget mixing desks. Alesis, ALLEN & HEATH, Korg, Mackie, SOUNDCRAFT? All of that is described in the TESTS/REVIEWS section. Also, BLIND TESTS, where we compare products from different manufacturers, should be helpful to you. Especially for mix.beatit.tv viewers, we meet up with renowned music producers, sound engineers, gear manufacturers, etc.

If you want to know what established pros think about issues related to a music producer’s or a sound engineer’s profession, e. g. mixing, miking, the choice of instruments and studio accessories, studio technology, recording, doing live gigs, the music business, clinics and workshops conducted by producers and engineers, as well as juicy anecdotes from working with big music stars, then the INTERVIEWS section is what you’re looking for. LIVE is where we present performances by renowned or promising producers. Thanks to our cameras, mix.beatit.tv viewers can see excellent sonic wizards in action. We have already been trusted by the likes of Przemysław “Perła” Wejmann or Gary Lyons (Queen, Aerosmith, Foreigner). There is more to come, of course. All those interested in learning how to do mixes are invited to check out our SHOP section, where you will be able to find a library of video files with lessons covering all levels, conducted by established music producers and sound engineers. The library will be systematically broadened and updated. Additionally, our online store offers beatit.tv T-shirts.
